Datenschutzerklärung

Stand: 15. September 2026 · Version 2.15.0

Rechtsgrundlage: Vertragserfüllung (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO).

11. Daten löschen

Du kannst alle lokal gespeicherten Daten jederzeit löschen:

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026 · Version 2.15.0

🔒 Awar n Arif has no user accounts and no first-party tracking. Learning progress and app data stay locally on your device and are not transmitted to servers by us. On Android and iOS, the free version shows ads from Google AdMob (with your consent) — without consent, the app shows its own ads instead, with no ad network involved (section 3). Clear exceptions where something leaves your device: advertising in Free mode including the preceding query to Google's consent tool, the voluntary "Report a problem" feature, the Premium subscription via your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), and — on Android only — a short update check at startup. Details below. On first launch you confirm once that you have read this policy — that is not consent to advertising; you decide on that separately in the Google form (section 3) and can change it at any time.

1. Controller

Controller under the GDPR:

Oussama Karimi (Awar n Arif · Linas Tools)
c/o Online-Impressum #10255 · Europaring 90 · 53757 St. Augustin, Germany
Email: Linastools@gmail.com
Legal address for service: see Legal notice.

2. Data stored locally

The app stores the following data only locally on your device (app storage, no server):

This data is not automatically transmitted to us or third parties by the app. Legal basis: provision of the app function you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR – functionality of the app).

3. Advertising in Free mode (Google AdMob — only with your consent)

Note on platforms: The following description applies equally to the Android and the iOS version. In both, the free version shows advertising from Google AdMob, and in both it is only loaded after you have given your consent. Differences exist only where the operating systems require them: the Premium subscription is billed through Google Play on Android and through the App Store on iOS. On Android, Google may use your device's advertising ID to serve ads; you can reset it in your system settings or block it for personalised advertising. On iOS, the app deliberately does not ask for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) — without that permission, Google's ad SDK has no access to the device-wide advertising identifier (IDFA). In both versions, the app requests non-personalised ads exclusively.

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob (provider: Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Premium users see no ads at all.

Consent before any ad: Before the app can show its first ad, it asks for your consent through Google's official User Messaging Platform (UMP). In the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland you'll see a form with the buttons "Consent", "Do not consent" and "Manage options" (where you can allow or reject individual purposes and vendors). Important: even if you consent, the app only ever requests non-personalized ads — no ads are served based on a user profile. Without your consent, AdMob shows nothing and processes no data for advertising purposes — on the query of your consent status itself, see the legal basis further below — the app then shows ads for our own offerings instead (see below), which need no consent. You can change your decision at any time in the settings under "Change ad consent". Regardless of your choice, we have blocked ads about politics, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and sexual content in our ad account.

Data processed (only if you consented):

Change your consent: You can withdraw or change your choice at any time under app settings → "Change ad consent" (only visible if a form applies to you).

Legal basis: All AdMob ads — non-personalized as well as personalized — require your consent: for storing and reading information on your device, Section 25(1) of the German TDDDG or the corresponding national implementation of the ePrivacy Directive in your country (in the Netherlands, Art. 11.7a of the Telecommunications Act); for the subsequent processing, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. We obtain this consent through the UMP form; you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Without consent, no processing by AdMob takes place. One exception: to determine at all whether a consent form is required for you and whether you have already decided, the app queries Google's consent tool (UMP) — even if you later decline, and even if you are a Premium user opening the settings. This unavoidably transmits your IP address and details about the app to Google Ireland Ltd. That query is strictly necessary in order to obtain and store your consent decision (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR); no ads are loaded by it.

Recipients / third-country transfer: Google Ireland Ltd. (Ireland) and, where applicable, Google LLC (USA). For transfers to the USA we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and additionally on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. You can request a copy of these safeguards from us informally (contact: see 1). Details: policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob end-user notices.

Our own ads as a fallback: If AdMob can't serve an ad — no consent given, no internet connection, no matching ad available — the app shows ads for our own offerings instead (our TikTok channel, our in-app calculator tool and Premium). No ad network is involved, no advertising ID is read, nothing leaves your device except when you actively tap — the app then asks first whether you want to leave. Legal basis: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); as there is no access to your terminal equipment within the meaning of § 25 TDDDG, no separate consent is required.

4. Premium subscription (billed through the app store)

The Premium subscription (monthly / yearly) is processed exclusively via your device's app store (Apple App Store on iPhone/iPad, Google Play on Android). We never see your payment details (account, card, billing address) — these stay with Apple or Google. The app only stores a subscription expiry date locally to know whether Premium is active. Apple (Apple Distribution International Ltd., Ireland) and Google process the purchase and payment data as independent controllers; their privacy policies apply. Note: deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it in your app store.

Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). 14-day right of withdrawal: see the separate withdrawal notice. Cancel anytime directly in your app store (iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) or via the "Manage / cancel subscription" link in the app settings.

5. "Report a problem" (voluntary)

Inside the lessons there's a report button (🚩). Before anything happens, you are asked and must actively confirm. Only then does the app create a screenshot of the current screen. On Android, your email app then opens, prepared with our address Linastools@gmail.com, a subject, the text and the screenshot attached — it is only sent once you tap Send there yourself. On iOS, your device's share menu (share sheet) opens instead; there you choose yourself which app to send the report to the same address with, for example your mail app or a messenger. For the attachment, the app stores the screenshot as a file in its own cache on Android and iOS; on Android and iOS this file is deleted the next time the app starts. The screenshot, your free text and technical details are prepared in both cases.

Processed data: screenshot, your description, app version, language setting and the selected spelling variant. On iOS the app additionally attaches technical details about your Premium purchase — the state of the purchase flow and the source of the detected subscription — so that complaints along the lines of I paid but see no Premium can be investigated at all. No payment data (card, account, billing address) is included. On iOS a technical diagnosis is also attached as a text file. It contains: sizes and colours of the currently visible screen areas and which controls overlap one another, scroll and display state, device model, operating system version, the text size and language you have set, your learning progress as figures (number of completed lessons, points, streak), the expiry date of a subscription, the app's storage usage, connection type and time zone, the buttons you tapped most recently, and the latest technical error messages. This lets us find display faults a screenshot alone cannot reveal. Not included: learning content (no words, no answers), no advertising or device identifier, and no text you typed other than your problem description. The screenshot may contain whatever is on your screen at that moment.

Recipients: the report goes to the controller (see 1). It is sent through the app you use for it — your email app on Android, the app you pick in the share sheet on iOS — and that app's own privacy policy applies. Delivery to us runs through Google (Gmail, Google Ireland Ltd.); this may involve processing in the USA, safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The app itself sends nothing and operates no server of its own.

Voluntariness & legal basis: nothing is sent automatically — the report only leaves your device when you actively send it in the app you chose. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), revocable anytime by not sending.

Retention: we keep support emails only as long as needed to handle your report and delete them afterwards — at the latest after 12 months.

6. Reminders / notifications (optional)

You can turn on a daily learning reminder in Settings. It is scheduled and shown locally on your device — no data is sent to us or third parties. The OS asks for the notification permission (Android: POST_NOTIFICATIONS). The feature is off by default. Legal basis: your consent by activating it (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); revocable anytime in app or system settings.

6a. Recording your pronunciation (optional, microphone)

In "Practise with Ziri" you can repeat a sentence and compare your recording with the native speaker's. This only happens when you actively tap the microphone icon; the first time, your operating system asks for microphone permission. The recording is kept solely in your device's working memory, is neither saved nor transmitted to us or third parties, and is discarded at the latest when you leave the exercise. With Premium you additionally see your recording as a voice waveform next to the native speaker's – just to look at. There is no speech recognition, no scoring and no analysis; nobody but you hears the recording. The exercise always works without the microphone too, and you can withdraw the permission in your system settings at any time.

Legal assessment: the recording never leaves your device – we do not receive it and have no access to it. In our assessment, consent under Section 25 TDDDG is not required for this purely on-device processing.

6b. Rating the app (optional)

The app may occasionally show you the rating window of Google Play (Android) or Apple (iOS) – without any reward and only a few times at most. Whether you rate and what you rate is up to you there. The respective store processes a submitted rating as an independent controller; it may appear publicly under your store profile name. We receive no data from the window, not even whether or how you rated. The app only stores locally when it asked. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in feedback on the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

7. Update check at startup (Android version only)

The iOS version performs no update check of its own — updates there run exclusively through the App Store. At startup the app briefly checks the Play Store for a newer version. This inherently transmits your IP address to Google Ireland Ltd.; we receive no data from this. For critical security/legal updates, the app may show a blocking update screen until the newer version is installed. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app up to date and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). More: Google privacy policy.

8. Permissions

The app uses no camera, location or contacts. It reads none of your existing photos or files. It requests:

9. External links

The app contains links to external services (e.g. TikTok, the Apple App Store, Google Play, our legal pages on Netlify). Before opening, we show a notice and you decide actively. Once redirected, the third-party privacy policies apply, which we do not control.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights: access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). Any consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR) – e.g. the one competent for us (LDI NRW, Germany) or the authority of your place of residence.

11. Deleting your data

You can delete all locally stored data at any time:

12. Changes

We update this policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The version published here, dated above, always applies.

13. Language Collector (tool for contributors)

Separately from the app we offer the Language Collector: a web page where native speakers can translate words and sentences into their language and, if they wish, record them.

On your device: translations, details and recordings stay in your browser's storage (localStorage and IndexedDB) until you create a file yourself. This is technically necessary so that nothing is lost (Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG). The microphone is only used after you allow it and only on your device. The page itself sends nothing to us.

Hosting: the page is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA). Visiting it technically generates server logs containing your IP address (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); the transfer to the USA relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

When you send us the file: which data we then process, for what purpose, on which legal basis and for how long, and what rights you have – including your right to object – is set out in full in no. 12 of the agreement you read before creating the file: Agreement, version 2. The use of your contributions is based on that agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), not on consent.

Privacyverklaring

Laatst bijgewerkt: 15 september 2026 · Versie 2.15.0

1. Verantwoordelijke

Verwerkingsverantwoordelijke onder de AVG:

Oussama Karimi (Awar n Arif · Linas Tools)
c/o Online-Impressum #10255 · Europaring 90 · 53757 St. Augustin, Duitsland
E-mail: Linastools@gmail.com
Officieel adres: zie Colofon.

2. Lokaal opgeslagen gegevens

6 lid 1 sub a AVG.

6a. Uitspraak opnemen (optioneel, microfoon)

Datos tratados (solo si has dado tu consentimiento):

6.1.a RGPD. 25.2.2 TDDDG, art. 6.1.c RGPD); no carga ningún anuncio.

Destinatarios / transferencia internacional: Google Ireland Ltd. (Irlanda) y, en su caso, Google LLC (EE. UU.).

10. Tus derechos

Conforme al RGPD tienes derecho a: acceso (art. 15), rectificación (art. 16), supresión (art. 17), limitación (art. 18), portabilidad (art. 20) y oposición (art. 21).

Données traitées (uniquement si tu as consenti) :

6.1.a RGPD.

6.1.f RGPD). Détails : politique Google.

8. Autorisations

L'app n'utilise ni caméra, ni localisation, ni contacts.

10. Tes droits

Selon le RGPD tu as droit à : accès (art. 15), rectification (art. 16), effacement (art. 17), limitation (art. 18), portabilité (art. 20) et opposition (art. 21).
