A language kept alive by the people who still speak it.
Tarifit — also called Rifisch, or Riffian Berber — has been passed from parent to child for generations — mostly by voice, rarely in writing, and almost never with its grammar written down anywhere. Awar n Arif started as one thing: a way to learn it properly, grammar included, built by someone from Nador. What we're building is bigger than one dialect — a home for the language across the Rif and its diaspora, for anyone who wants their children, or themselves, to hold on to it.

Every word and every recording comes from someone who actually speaks Tarifit — not a generic Amazigh standard.
A real course, not a phrasebook
Most Tarifit resources stop at vocabulary. We wrote down the grammar — verbs, sentence structure, the Tifinagh script — for a language that rarely gets that treatment.
Wherever you grew up
Most of our learners never lived in the Rif. The app is built for someone who understands more than they can say.
Beyond one dialect
Tarifit comes first. What we're building is meant to grow with the wider Amazigh community, not stay small.
